TPUSA CEO Erika Kirk reflected on her first Thanksgiving without her husband, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, posting on social media Thursday that she and Charlie had “always loved Thanksgiving because it drew us back to the simple, but holy practice of gratitude.”

Erika posted on Instagram a video showing the letters and gifts that have been sent to her since her husband’s death, saying she is reminded of gratitude.

“And even now, well, especially now, in the depths of the ache, I’m reminded of that gratitude,” she posted. “God blessed me with being married to the love of my life, with our beautiful babies, with our family and friends, and with people from all over the world who have sent us letters, toys, artwork, and Bibles.”

“It’s easy to fixate on what’s been taken, at what’s missing. But my goodness does the Lord meet me in my weakness, and His strength gently shifts my eyes to what I still have on this side of heaven,” Erika added. “What remains is sacred.”

She also emphasized the amount of support she has received, saying she is “reading every letter and card, opening every gift” that has been sent to her family.

“Heaven’s our home,” she continued. “I just want her to know that daddy is having so much fun and building a place for her and our family.”

“We’ll save a plate for you babe,” she said of Charlie.

Prior to Thanksgiving, clips resurfaced on X showing Charlie last year discussing Thanksgiving traditions with Jack Posobiec, including pumpkin pie, the timing of Thanksgiving dinner, and other holiday customs. Charlie emphasized the value of the holiday and the importance of gratitude, saying, “Happiness is impossible if you’re not grateful… I do not think you can have joy if you’re not grateful.”
