Tech CEO Elon Musk visited Israel this week to survey the damage and speak with leaders following the attacks perpetrated by the terror organization Hamas on October 7.

Musk visited with Israeli leaders, including President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who accompanied the billionaire on a tour of a rural village, Kfar Aza kibbutz, which was severely damaged in the deadly attack.

After visiting the area and speaking with local residents who survived the militants’ assault, Musk said that “it was jarring to see the scene of the massacre.” A video released by Netanyahu’s office shows Musk, the Prime Minister, and a security team wearing protective gear and examining the rubble throughout the village.

After their walkthrough of the kibbutz, Netanyahu showed Musk footage of the attacks taken by Hamas assailants and Israelis that have been compiled into a short film documenting the atrocities.

The Prime Minister later joined Musk for a “live chat” on his social media platform X to discuss what they witnessed throughout the day. “It was troubling especially to see the joy experienced by people that were killing innocent civilians,” Musk said adding, “It’s evil.”

During their conversation, Netanyahu claimed, “We have to demilitarize Gaza after the destruction of Hamas, and we have to deradicalize Gaza … and then we have to also rebuild Gaza,” to which Musk responded, “I’d like to help as well.”

Musk later posted, “Trite as it may sound, I wish for world peace.”

The X owner has recently come under fire from left-wing media watchdog Media Matters for America, which claimed that the social platform had placed advertisements for prominent brands next to antisemitic rhetoric. Media Matters also accused Musk of giving credence to “white nationalist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories,” online. Musk vowed to file a “thermonuclear lawsuit” against the company over the smears, and alleged that the organization intentionally attempted to “mislead advertisers.”
