A DOJ staff member was fired after his arrest for throwing a sandwich at law enforcement while protesting the presence of federalized police and the National Guard in Washington DC.

The man was revealed to be Sean Charles Dunn according to filing documents. For his actions, Dunn is being charged with “assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and employees of the United States,” which is a felony charge, according to US for the District of Columbia Jeannine Pirro.

“Why are you here? I don’t want you in my city,” Dunn asked the officers, which included DC Metro Transit Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted a video of the incident on X, showing Dunn confront a male officer and subsequently throw a wrapped sandwich at him and run away while officers pursued him on foot.

The officer hit by Dunn was a US Customs and Border Protection agent.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi commented further on the actions of Dunn, announcing his termination.

“This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ…You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement,” Bondi wrote.

The Washington Post reports that “Dunn was an international affairs specialist in the criminal division of the Justice Department… Dunn is 37 and lives in the District, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney’s office in D.C.”
