When COVID-19 was declared a national emergency on March 13, firearm sales spiked over the next 12 days. Sales surged over 120,o00 transactions in one day, peaking at 176,000 transactions on March 16. In March alone, it was recorded that there were 700,000 firearm sales.
After the protests following George Floyd, the United States saw a historic high in gun sales, with 3.9 million firearms being sold in June alone.
