Denver Cuts Employee Hours to Budget-in Services for Illegal Immigrants

The city of Denver told hourly employees their hours would be cut to zero to keep paying for services for people who illegally entered the country.
The city of Denver was struggling for weeks to keep paying for illegal immigrants to be in the city. Earlier in February, the city announced it was cutting services for taxpayers to prioritize the services of illegal border crossers, according to a report from Gateway Pundit.
In its latest effort to prioritize migrants over American taxpayers, the city announced that hourly employees such as coaches, lifeguards, and front desk workers, have been laid off without the benefits of being laid off.
The city insists that no layoffs have taken place, employee hours have merely been reduced. Without being laid off, employees have no access to unemployment benefits, severance pay, or other benefits typically offered in a layoff.
Denver’s Parks & Recreation department took the immediate hit of funding cuts. Money that was traditionally spent on summer recreation programming for Denver residents will be reduced by 25 percent, according to CBS News. In lieu of summer programming for Americans, the money is slated to be spent on illegal migrants.
Online commentators took issue with Denver’s fiscal priorities.
“We’re not laying you off to pay for illegal immigrants, we’re just not giving you any hours… so we can pay for illegals,” one commentator tweeted.
“What’s nuts is taxpayers pay the salaries of City of Denver staff,” a commentator by the username Stop Woke culture tweeted. “When staff then apply for unemployment (because they can’t not work) the City of Denver has to pay for the increases of their unemployment rates. That will then need to be covered by an increased budget. Taxes, up.”
Denver has attempted to offload the influx of illegal immigrants into affluent suburbs in hopes of staving off the financial burden. However, suburban voters remain wary of allowing more migrants into their neighborhoods as many report an increase in drugs and prostitution in their streets.
