In 2019, just 18 babies were born with Downs Syndrome in Denmark as compared to the 6,000 per year in the U.S., and that is because Denmark has elected to abort 95% of its babies that are found to have Downs in their prenatal screenings.

Sarah Zhang, the author of “The Last Children of Down Syndrome,” talks about the overwhelming increase in abortion cases since the introduction of universal prenatal testing in 2004. The testing is offered to pregnant women in Denmark and can detect if the unborn child is affected by down syndrome.

Science has come a long way just in my lifetime, and I am grateful for most of the progress, but we can not identify this as progress. No matter what illness she or he may have, every human life is precious and should be fiercely protected.

Today’s encouragement is not to convince you one way or another on abortion but to encourage you to get on YouTube and watch every video you can find on abortion survivors and what they are doing with their lives today.

It’s just so hard for me to comprehend what these people believe. I’m a firm believer in God and don’t believe he makes mistakes. A child with down syndrome is NOT a mistake. They are unique individuals and spread love just like the rest of us; they, too, deserve to have a chance at life.

I hope and pray for hearts to be moved so far from these dark days.
