Customs and Border Protection Seize Fentanyl Pills that Look like Candy

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents have recently seized hundreds of thousands of fentanyl pills along the Arizona border, including pills that are made to resemble candy.
Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than 200,000 fentanyl pills hidden in a secret compartment of a vehicle at Port of Nogales, Arizona, Saturday. Around 47,000 of those pills were rainbow-colored pills, which federal officials have warned is a new trend meant to drive young people to the deadly drug.

Fentanyl has been a rising problem in American society over the last decade. While it was once a less common drug, it has now risen to be the cause of most annual overdose deaths. Not only is this concerning to adults who suffer from addiction and death, but these rainbow-colored pills that have a similar appearance to candy like Sweetarts are also extremely concerning for the safety of children.
This is just another reason why it is crucial to secure our borders. Border security is a national security issue and is crucial in protecting our citizens from drug addiction, overdoses, and deaths. Drugs have been coming across our borders by cartels for decades, and they are eager to take advantage of White House administrations that appear hesitant to enforce the law.
