There were 11 terrifying “smash and grab” robberies in the Los Angeles area in recent weeks that left shoppers and the community terrified. Although LAPD made 14 arrests in connection with these crimes, all of the suspects are back on the streets due to California’s “zero bail” policy.
Zero bail means that those who are charged with a crime are processed and immediately released from jail prior to trial as opposed to remaining in jail until the trial begins. This policy is dangerous because it often releases individuals who are threatening and inclined to commit more crimes, which often occurs, and results in greater harm. This creates a revolving door of lawlessness because criminals see that their actions have no consequences.
See for yourself:
Pre-trial incarceration has several benefits. For the public, it keeps citizens safe from dangerous people. For the inmates, it allows them to receive drug treatment, mental health counseling, or rehabilitation programs to teach them how to live a life free of crime.
Obviously, zero bail is a leftist ideology. Often the left believes that they are helping society when in fact they are actually harming those who have committed a crime and the public at large.
