In an op-ed published in the student newspaper, the Cornell Daily Sun, senior Cornell student Christian Baran is openly advocating for mandatory vasectomies prior to reaching puberty for boys to solve the societal problems of unplanned pregnancies and to allow women not to worry about birth control.
Christian says, “Women have traditionally borne the burden of invasive birth control… There is no real justification for the responsibility to fall on women. It’s time to shift that responsibility to men and call for required vasectomies.” He claims that a “vasectomy is the most effective form of birth control other than abstinence and has no major side effects.”
No major side effects, huh?
The same study Christian uses to make his claim in the controversial op-ed found that men who had received a vasectomy and later reversed it through surgery saw a 6% decline in fertility compared to men who had never gotten the surgery, to begin with.
Christian sounds like he’d get along great with the likes of women calling for an end to having children in order to protect the planet or advance women’s rights. Sounds to me like the goal of the Left is truly to halt human existence altogether.
