Why are conservatives worshipping Spotify now that the CEO claims they believe in free speech? Come on, people, let’s not be so naive and keep up our critical thinking!
Spotify does NOT believe in free speech. If they did, they wouldn’t put “disclaimers” on episodes they disagree with, AND they certainly wouldn’t take down episodes they don’t like. Yes, this really happens! Episode #3 of The Spillover with guest Abigail Shrier was taken off Spotify before Cuteservatives blasted the comment section and ultimately got it put back up online. Spotify’s excuse: “it was moved by mistake.”
What a joke!! We know it wasn’t taken down by mistake. Spotify actively tries to suppress content they do not align with politically, and they’ll continue to do it!
Sometimes I think if someone says a couple conservative buzzwords, we immediately start worshipping that brand or person without even considering their actions. To me–putting a disclaimer at the beginning of your podcast to insinuate a guest may not be credible because they have a different opinion than fact-checkers at Facebook is NOT just being a publisher and IS, in fact, being editorial. Sometimes I feel like I’m losing my mind.
Just know, you’ll never fully agree with every single thing conservatives do or say, just like you won’t fully agree with everything liberals do or say. And that’s just politics, baby.
