There are increasingly two realities in America: those of anti-freedom and those of pro-freedom. Generally, conservatives realize that people are fleeing liberal states for conservative ones because the former were bogged down with COVID restrictions, crime, high taxes, and crippling business regulations, while the latter is free, thriving, safe, open, and business-friendly.

Recently, a Florida liberal tried to tell me that people don’t move to Florida for any of these reasons. “People don’t care about politics. They care about sunshine and taxes,” she informed me.

How do you think she felt when I told her that taxes are political? Spoiler alert-she became unhinged. Forget her. Let’s talk about the facts, not the emotions. Fact: People are fleeing California in droves, and there’s no shortage of sunshine there.

As to taxes, when has a liberal ever cut taxes? It’s no coincidence that 6 of the 9 states with no state income tax are led by conservatives:

  1. Alaska
  2. Florida
  3. South Dakota
  4. Tennessee
  5. Texas
  6. Wyoming

The moral of the story is that the massive traditions that we have seen out of New York and California to places like Texas, Florida, Wyoming, and Utah are no coincidence. As to my Florida fact denying friend, I offered to buy her a one-way ticket to Los Angeles or New York on me. I wonder why she didn’t take me up on my offer?
