Colorado State University Threatens to ARREST Unvaccinated Student

This week at Colorado State University (CSU), one of our TPUSA student activists was barred from campus and threatened with arrest due to the school’s extreme and draconian COVID-19 policies.
Per university guidelines issued by President Joyce McConnell, students at CSU are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination or request an exemption through a student portal online. Those who are exempt from the widespread vaccine mandate are subjected to the following, as described to students in an August email:
- Mandatory twice-weekly screenings for all unvaccinated individuals, beginning Monday, Aug. 16. This includes individuals who have declared an exemption.
- Mandatory twice-weekly screening will be extended indefinitely.
Masks are also required on campus, described to students in the same email as follows:
- Masks are required indoors in all university buildings, effective immediately regardless of vaccine status.
- Recognizing the timing of this message, anyone in a university building today, August 10, who does not have access to a mask must wear one beginning tomorrow, August 11.
- Individuals living in university housing must wear masks unless they are in their own room or apartment.
- Faculty and staff must wear a mask unless they are alone in their office.
- Masks are also required when more than one person is in a university vehicle or conducting university travel in a private vehicle.
According to the University’s COVID-19 website, 87.5% of students are already vaccinated for COVID-19, and 84.9% of faculty are vaccinated as well. This figure is well above the commonly accepted threshold for herd immunity in the science community (for context, the threshold for vaccination or exposure to polio to reach herd immunity is 80%). There’s a higher percentage of unvaccinated professors than students, but something tells me professors are not being threatened in the same manner.

Now, the school is targeting just a handful of students who remain unvaccinated without an exemption with the looming threat of arrest and a complete ban from campus property–even though CSU is a public school, making it an open campus by law.
If you are an unvaccinated illegal immigrant, you are welcome on CSU’s campus. If you are an unvaccinated alumni, you too are welcome on CSU’s campus. The same goes for if you are an unvaccinated guest speaker. You are welcome on CSU’s campus. But if you are a tuition-paying unvaccinated student, you will be arrested for trespassing on public property. Of course, if you’re vaccinated and happen to spread COVID-19 on campus, there are no consequences for your actions.
We’ve arrived at a point in American culture where we are hell-bent on destroying people’s education, relationships, and reputations in the name of compliance with mob rule. When will enough be enough? When every unvaccinated student is arrested? When they’re prosecuted? When they are forbidden from seeking employment?
CSU is leading the way for universities “fighting” this virus with absurdity, tyrannical threats, and dystopian culture. As a Ram alumnus, I am ashamed of their approach to COVID-19, damaging the university experience beyond repair. We used to say on campus, “Rams take care of Rams,” but today, it seems the 1984-style administration will do anything but fight for you–they’ll just fight you.
