My home state of Colorado announced last week that the state government would be offering $50,000 scholarships to randomly selected teenagers aged 12-17. Any teenager in the state who has received at least one dose of the vaccine will be automatically entered into the drawing.

The lottery aims to provide a total of $1.25 million in college scholarships to Colorado students and financially incentivize young Coloradans to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Governor Jared Polis shared in a press briefing, “If you’re 12, 13, 14, you might not be thinking about college yet. The funds are put in a college invest account and will grow over time, and you’ll be able to use it for not just college, but technical programs, credential programs.”

What do you think about the decision for the state government to provide college scholarships to vaccinated teenagers? Would this drive your decision to get vaccinated one way or another? Tell me in the comments.
