Chaos unfolded over the weekend at the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility as far-left activists clashed with law enforcement.
TPUSA Frontlines highlighted the scene as activists arrived on Saturday night, continuing the ongoing conflict at the facility. Masked individuals and protesters holding anti-ICE signs gathered outside. Tensions rose throughout the night as antifa militants confronted officers, with one agitator screaming at police who were attempting to resolve a situation.
Activists began attempting to block the entrance to the facility. Police moved to contain the crowd as counter-protesters arrived and clashed with the far-left activists.
Amid the demonstrations, Frontlines reporter Bo Dittle interviewed one left-wing protester who called rioting “the voice of the unheard” when asked to condemn political violence.
“I believe that riots are the voice of the unheard,” the protester said, ”and I do believe that there comes a time when asking nicely doesn’t work. So when violence is upon you, I don’t know, I was raised with that whole ‘give me liberty or give me death’ thing. So there are some hills worth dying on.”
Going into the early hours of Sunday morning, activists were seen getting physical with federal agents. After repeated warnings, officers held their ground while agents on the roof deployed pepper balls at agitators.
The Portland ICE facility has for months seen unruly demonstrations from left-wing agitators and Antifa members, with repeated overnight protests leading to clashes with federal officers.
