China Wants to ‘Delete America’ from its Technology Software

China wants to "delete America" from is tech. The CCP is aiming to replace all foreign-owned IT software within state-owned companies with Chinese software. This edict is known as Document 79 or "Delete A," — which is short for "Delete America."

You probably haven’t heard of Document 79.

Don’t feel bad, it means that you are not a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spy.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the CCP has been working tirelessly since September 2020 to replace all foreign-owned information technology (commonly referred to as “IT”) software within state-owned companies with Chinese software by 2027. This edict is known as Document 79 or “Delete A,” — which is short for “Delete America.”

I never sympathize with the CCP, but in this instance, I agree with them. Actually, I believe the United States government should consider doing the same. Sure, TikTok is banned on federal devices — but in my opinion, that doesn’t go nearly far enough to protect American data and U.S. intelligence from being obtained by foreign entities.

Whether it’s software, manufacturing, or farmland, the U.S. needs to start uncoupling our entanglements with the CCP. Why are we allowing Chinese-made software, microchips, or other technologies in our federal buildings? Why does China manufacture so many of our everyday essential goods — including live-saving pharmaceutical drugs? Over 90% of our medications and antibiotics are made in China. Imagine for a moment if the CCP suddenly cut off that supply chain.

The CCP also has a vested interest in American public education, sending over $17 million to K-12 schools around the U.S. to fund centers to teach American students the Chinese language and culture. Meanwhile, 30% of 12th-grade students in the U.S. tested below the basic reading comprehension levels for the English language in 2019.

Moreover, why are Chinese nationals purchasing large swaths of American farmland and real estate near critical military bases? So far, only a handful of states have banned entities and affiliates of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria from purchasing land.

The U.S. should be completely self-sustained as a nation. We have the capabilities and resources to manufacture microchips as well as medicine, but instead of doing so, we continue to sit around waiting for China to deliver the latest version of the iPhone to us — all the while, the CCP is pushing us out of its economy. Your move, America.
