It’s no secret that most colleges and universities align themselves with a liberal worldview. I’ve talked about the problematic indoctrination happening within our institutions’ walls many times before, and I entirely blame them for encouraging and advocating for the hatred of our country.
This week, I’d like to give a real-life glimpse into what a college classroom looks like for many college students.
Chloe Clark, an English professor at Iowa State University, provided a syllabus to her English 250 class titled “GIANT WARNING” in all caps. Underneath this menacing headline, Professor Clark informed her students that they “cannot choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do (i.e., no arguments against gay marriage, abortion, BLM, etc.) I take this seriously.” She continued, “Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, serophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc.) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.” Professor Clark also leads “Feminist Fridays,” where students, faculty, and community members can join for a weekly discussion regarding how attendees can think about using their privilege to avoid “othering,” or discriminating against groups or individuals outside of their race or class.
Dr. Damon Sanjani is a Professor of African Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is mostly known for teaching a course called “The Problem of Whiteness,” which explores “how whiteness is socially constructed and experienced to help dismantle white supremacy.” Perhaps even more shocking than this, Dr. Sanjani tweeted, “Is the uprising finally starting? Is this style of protest gonna go viral?” about the 2016 shooting of Dallas police officers. That same night, he linked a song called “Officer Down,” and tweeted, “Watching CNN, this is the song I am currently enjoying in my head.” After the press requested an interview with Dr. Sajnani, he declined, citing “the preponderance of white supremacist backlash against myself and the UW-Madison community.”
Dr. Dana Cloud, Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies Professor at Syracuse University, is a member of the International Socialist Organization. In the classroom, Dr. Cloud teaches her students that America is to blame for 9/11 due to its interventionist foreign policy in the Middle East. The day after 9/11, she wrote that while it was clearly “despicable” for the Islamic hijackers to have targeted American civilians, it was “worth pointing out that the United States military has, in recent years, been the most effective and constant killer of civilians around the world.” In 2002, Dr. Cloud wrote a new Pledge of Allegiance because, according to her, it seems very strange to pledge loyalty to a “scrap of cloth” representing a “corrupt nation.” The new pledge went something like this:
I pledge allegiance to the people of Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan and their struggles to survive and resist slavery to corporate greed, brutal wards against their families, and the economic and environmental ruin wrought by global capitalism.
These are just a few examples of the corruption, brainwashing, and bias happening within our classrooms. These are the teachers developing the curriculum students and parents are paying tens of thousands of dollars a year for.
So why do we continue funding them? Why are we sending our kids to further their education to have them return radicalized and hating our country?
After years of observing campus indoctrination, Turning Point USA launched DivestU. In this program, conservatives and all other rationally-minded, patriotic Americans can choose to stop financing institutions of leftwing propaganda. If you’ve decided that enough is enough, I will encourage you to visit DivestU.com and learn more. And if this did not convince you, or you are wondering if there are professors like this at your college or alma mater, Turning Point USA regularly updates professorwatchlist.org to shed so much needed light on stories like these.
If you’re invested in America’s future, it’s probably time for you to divest from institutions that want to transform it fundamentally.
