Turning Point USA’s School Board Watchlist has been in the news recently. The National School Boards Association sent a letter to the Biden Administration referencing the Watchlist as a “threat” to school board members nationwide.
While we disagree with the premise of their claim, we appreciate the free advertising–and the good news is, we are just getting started!
Featured on our School Board Watchlist this week is Cambridge Public Schools in Massachusetts, which involves 17 total schools and 7,000 students.
CPS has made it their mission to be in the running for the “wokest school district in America,” from implementing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all students and prioritizing racial equity.
According to our School Board Watchlist website, “Failure to obtain the COVID vaccine will result in exclusion from ALL Athletics, including club and intramural sports, student government, after school visual and performing arts, all school clubs that meet out of the school day, and school-sponsored social events” at Cambridge Public Schools.
The district superintendent has made it clear that equity and racial equity are at the forefront of priorities, saying, “It is my hope that this Equity & Access website will build greater transparency around our efforts to build an anti-racist and equitable learning environment in our schools. As we seek to dismantle the structures of racism and other oppressive legacies, this newsletter will also direct attention to the many CPS educators, students, and families who work tirelessly to build a better future for young people.”
