British Army Veteran Arrested in the UK for Causing Anxiety

A cellphone video taken by Laurence Fox showed United Kingdom police arresting 51-year old Darren Brady, a British Army veteran.

The arrest was made because Brady re-shared an internet meme that the officer claimed to have, “caused anxiety” for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Nope, this is not a joke.

Fox originally created the content that led to Brady’s arrest, the meme contained pride flags that were manipulated to form a swastika. Fox News reported, “[Laurence Fox] said the meme was meant as a commentary on the authoritarian nature of LGBTQ and transgender activists.” Irony.

Laurence Fox can be heard from behind the phone’s camera saying, “I wish Hampshire police would realize how ridiculous this is.”

“I posted something that he posted, you come to arrest me, you don’t arrest him. Why has it come to this, why am I in cuffs?” Brady asked the officer, who so gracefully responded, “Someone has been caused anxiety based on your social media post, and that is why you’re being arrested.”

So there you have it folks. You can now get someone ARRESTED in the UK for saying something that causes you anxiety. I think this is a real game changer, and am preparing a list of people who have caused me severe and traumatic anxiety on the internet as I am writing this.

The reality of this, however, is pretty horrible. Let’s get one thing straight: I do not endorse the graphic created, or how the desired message was implemented. I do however, want to take a deeper look at the meaning it was trying to convey. Its purpose was to express concerns that the LGBTQ+ community has an almost “authoritarian” aspect to it, which I don’t totally disagree with.

The group has totally removed itself from the possibility of criticism or opposition. The mere questioning of transgenderism leads to claims of “violence” against the community as a whole — which is why you see people getting arrested over a meme shared online.

Teachers have the ability to provide transition closets to children in school without their parents knowledge, as well as supply underage students with medical care without parental consent.

In places like Canada, if a parent insists that their daughter is in fact girl, rather than whatever they want to identify as, the parents can literally be arrested for refusing to give “gender affirming care.” This to me, seems ever so slightly tyrannical and dare I say, oppressive.

The whole situation sets a pretty dangerous precedent, and hopefully will not be not making its way to America anytime soon.
