Boy Scouts of America Pitch Rainbow Tent for LGBT Youth
The Boy Scouts of America have decided to pitch a pride-themed tent at the Scouts National Jamboree in West Virginia, calling it an “affinity space for LGBTQ youth.”
In a recent piece in the Washington Post, writer Mike De Socio details the Boy Scouts’ latest initiative to create a “welcoming” space for LGBT-identifying youth. De Socio explains that the LGBTQ tent was decorated with “LGBTQ Pride flags and a string of multicolored lights, its tables covered with bowls of rainbow bracelets, pronoun stickers and diversity patches.”
Included in the Washington Post article is an interview with National Jamboree volunteer River Capell. Capell is an 18-year-old who identifies as “nonbinary and pansexual.” While WaPo refers to Capell using “they/them” pronouns, Capell appears to be a biological female.
The Boy Scouts of America has explicitly abandoned its initial goal of creating a wholesome and safe environment for young boys. By openly accepting trans-identifying and non-binary scouts that are biological women, the Boy Scouts of America is no longer a place for actual, biological boys.
This decision by the Boy Scouts of America is directly in line with the radical gender ideology perpetuated by the left and should be condemned; the organization is actively attempting to normalize gender confusion in young boys. While a lot of people are shocked by this police change, it is just another example of the radical left’s mission to indoctrinate minors into its LGBT cult.
The Boy Scouts have been a staple in communities across the country for decades. The organization has a long history of initiating fundraisers and campaigns to help the homeless, the elderly, and veterans. The organization has mentored countless young boys who grew into responsible men. It taught survival skills, community building, and leadership. If we change the core tenants of this organization, then we are creating a generation that is scared, weak, and confused.
