Lia Thomas, who is now a member of the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team after three years on the men’s team, recently shattered the records during a swim meet. As seen in this video here, you can watch Thomas win the meet by 38 seconds, which is a very long time in the swimming realm.
At what point are people going to realize that men and women are built completely differently? Thomas spent the past three years on the men’s team, but all of a sudden, after taking a few shots, they’re allowed to swim on the women’s team? It doesn’t make any sense, and before the skittle squad comes for me again, I’d like to make it known that I don’t care how you identify. If you’re grown, do what you do, but the second you start impeding into real women’s spaces is when I have a problem.
Piers Morgan made a very great point. He said, “If Michael Phelps began competing as a transgender woman, all hell would break loose – so why is nothing being done to stop trans athletes like Lia Thomas from destroying women’s sport?” So true! We need to uphold these standards and stop allowing women to be erased from their sports leagues designed for them.
There’s a clear reason you see more male-to-female trans people breaking records than female-to-male. The reason is that men are biologically built to be stronger than women. That’s not a dig at women, that’s just science, and quite frankly, I’m tired of the people screaming “trust the science” defending trans athletes in sports. The science is clear-cut, yet people are choosing to ignore it.
Trans athletes need their own space to compete. I mean, think about how much money they would make! It would be insane to watch, but also, it would be fair. We need to have biological men with men, biological women with women, and transgenders with other transgenders. This is how it should be if we’re trying to create “spaces” for all these different identities now. I’m tired of watching women’s records be shattered by men with wigs. Enough is enough.
