LeBron James made waves when he said that Brittney Griner, who is still detained in Russian for drug possession, should question wanting to return to the United States.
Here’s what The (Flop) King had to say specifically:
“Now, how can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?'”
Hist statement was from earlier this week on HBO’s “The Shop” – where LeBron and his guests sit in a barbershop and talk about who-knows-what with celebrities, his business partners, and other athletes (clearly, I don’t watch regularly).
Now he’s trying to walk his comments back — and is failing worse than the Lakers did this past season…
LeBron has consistently stated that America is an oppressive, regressive, evil empire. He has claimed that African Americans are hunted daily when they step out the door, police are the enemy of the people, the flag isn’t worth standing for, and has even stooped as low as creating a racist hoax saying that the front gate of his multi-dollar mansion was vandalized. All while protecting the CCP, never speaking about the atrocities and genocide overseas while continually cashing checks from them.
If LeBron and the woke athletes in the WNBA really wanted to make a difference and #BringHerHome, they’d call out President Biden for his incompetence and weakness in a situation that could turn into a prisoner exchange.
Brittney Griner has previously said, “I honestly feel we should not play the national anthem during our season” and has pleaded guilty to the charges for trying to bring hashish oil into Russia, regardless, she’s an American citizen that should be brought home.
All in all, it’s fascinating to see LeBron, an intelligent businessman who has built an empire for himself, be so, so dumb.
Don’t call America a “beautiful country” when you clearly don’t appreciate, love or support it.
