Ben Shapiro started his speech by announcing The Daily Wire is teaming up with Turning Point USA CEO and Founder Charlie Kirk on a documentary titled “Identity Crisis.” The new film—inspired by Matt Walsh’s 2022 documentary “What Is A Woman?”—explores the harmful transgender ideology experiment that’s targeting America’s youth.
Shapiro revealed that “Identity Crisis” premiers exclusively on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, January 10, 2025. The documentary will air over the weekend and be available on The Daily Wire platform starting Monday, January 13.
Shapiro declared, “The Golden Age of America is just beginning.” He said he’d been in a bad mood for the last few years, but now he’s in a good mood due to President-Elect Donald Trump’s upcoming return to the White House.
“President Trump is a force. He is a historic force—the historic force of our age,” Shapiro said. “He was the man standing between the United States and stagnation…He was indicted and he stood. He was shot and he stood. And America stood with him. We stood with him.”
Shapiro explained how he views American society as divided into two distinct groups: lions and scavengers. The lions, he said, want to build things and be productive citizens while believing they have duties (to family, community, country, etc.) given to them by God.
In contrast, Shapiro described scavengers as those who believe personal failures are someone else’s fault and that all systems of meritocracy must be destroyed. He remarked that the scavengers were on the rise for four years but now they’re on the run thanks to President Trump, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA, and every patriot.
Shapiro also highlighted a school of thought that says success should be punished, that innovation is evil, and entrepreneurs like Elon Musk have committed “great sins” by building companies. He said scavengers believe in the cosmic justice of “equity” which utilizes discrimination and cruelty to produce equal outcomes in society.
On the contrary, he claimed that free markets allow everyone an opportunity to invest in themselves, take risks, and rise or fall on their own merits, saying, “Free markets are the opposite of socialism and stagnation that the left likes to talk about.”
Shapiro declared he was hopeful that stagnation would end as Donald Trump and the American people would soon make the American Dream possible again. Shapiro, who said his views evolved over the past eight years, is confident that Trump and his new administration will deliver on every promise he made.
