Balenciaga Criticized for Advertisement with Children Holding Stuffed Animals in Bondage Gear

Balenciaga is facing heavy criticism after publishing an advertisement of young children holding stuffed animals in bondage gear.

In the advertisement posted directly on their website, Balenciaga had two little girls holding a teddy bear that is in BDSM attire. The teddy bear is a purse product sold by the luxury fashion company. This marketing campaign was such a shock, Twitter was fact-checking Tweets about the advertisement to confirm that it indeed is true.

Balenciaga is using child models to promote a bondage bag dressed in sexual style wear. It is truly disturbing that there are adults who went through with this photoshoot and approved it to be published online.

Even more confusing about this photoshoot is the purposeful placement of what appears to be court documents of United States Petitioner v. Michael Williams, a Supreme Court ruling regarding child pornography, and The Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996.

Balenciaga had deleted their Twitter account several days ago, and recently deleted all posts on their Instagram. They have since posted several photos on Instagram again to promote their spring 2023 campaign.
