Amidst Backlash, Black Lives Matter Plaza is Getting Refreshed by Thanksgiving
Washington D.C. has decided to refresh the paint at “Black Lives Matter” Plaza, despite the intense backlash the group has received for its support of the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas.
During the height of the BLM movement in 2020, the D.C. Department of Public Works painted the words “Black Lives Matter” in large yellow letters on 16th Street near the White House. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser then announced that the area would be renamed the Black Lives Matter Plaza.
Now, the city will be using taxpayer dollars to freshen the painted letters. This decision comes at a time when the organization is under public scrutiny for posts showing support for Hamas’ attacks against innocent Israeli civilians. Earlier this month, BLM’s Chicago chapter posted on X a graphic displaying Hamas’ paraglider attacks with the caption “I stand with Palestine” written beneath.
Considering the Marxist origins of Black Lives Matter, its rejection of the nuclear family, and its shady financial dealings, it is already surprising that D.C. would choose to renew the city’s plaza. However, the continuation of support for this organization after its support of Hamas is a new low.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas War, footage has shown the brutal acts that have been carried out by Hamas terrorists, including the murder, kidnapping, and torture of civilians. While acts like this should spark national unity in our country, with everyone eager to condemn this violence, instead there are numerous organizations like Black Lives Matter that proudly endorse the terrorist organization’s violence.
DC officials claim the job will be completed by Thanksgiving.
