Americans Show Growing Support for Mass Deportation of Illegal Immigrants: Poll

A recent Fox News poll has found that two-thirds of voters now support mass deportations of illegal immigrants—a 15-point increase since the question was first posed in 2015.

Fox News noted that this increase in support spans a range of demographic groups, including non-white voters, rural and urban voters, and members of both political parties. Meanwhile, support for allowing illegal immigrants to stay if they have a job and pursue citizenship has dropped, with just a little over half of voters in favor (58 percent), down by four points since the previous year and 10 points since 2015.

These findings emerge as immigration is expected to be a central issue in the upcoming election. According to the poll, 40 percent of voters prioritize the economy as the top issue, with immigration ranking second at 17 percent, and abortion third at 15 percent. Interest in immigration as a top issue is highest among conservative voters.

Concerns over crime committed by illegal immigrants is likely contributing to the shift in voter sentiment. A recent ICE report found that more than 420,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions currently remain in the US. These convictions included serious offenses like sexual assault, kidnapping, and homicide.

In addition, the Department of Homeland Security has recently identified over 600 migrants in the US with possible ties to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Over 100 individuals suspected of ties to the gang have been arrested by ICE since October 2022.

As the crisis at the southern border persists, the poll also reflects a decline in support for US involvement in foreign conflicts. Forty percent of Americans now believe the US should reduce its involvement in Ukraine’s war with Russia, up five points since May and 14 points since 2022.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”
