More than 70,000 “special interest aliens” individuals from Middle Eastern nations have crossed the U.S. southern border within the past two years, according to a report from Fox News.

Bill Melugin from Fox News defined “special interest aliens” as “a term used by the U.S. government to refer to people coming from countries that have conditions that favor or harbor terrorism, or pose a potential national security to the U.S.”

The data, leaked by sources within Customs and Border Protection (CBP), confirmed that between October 2021 and October 2023, agents encountered 6,386 individuals from Afghanistan, 12,624 from Uzbekistan, 30,830 from Turkey, 1,613 from Pakistan, 659 from Iran and 538 from Syria, 164 from Lebanon, 185 from Jordan, 123 from Iraq, 3,153 from Egypt, and 15,594 from Mauritania.

The data does not include the estimated 1.5 million “gotaways” that have entered the U.S. over the past several years. During fiscal year 2023, border agents encountered 151 individuals on the FBI terror watchlist, largely surpassing 2022’s total arrest number of 98 terror watchlist members.

Border patrol agents have raised concerns over who is crossing the southern border, noting that most individuals from Middle Eastern countries have no history or traceable record for officials to verify before releasing them into the U.S.

After illegal crossings reached record levels in September, the Biden administration announced that it would be resuming construction on portions of the border wall in Texas, the Department of Homeland Security cited an “immediate need” for a barrier in the announcement.

TPUSA reported at the time, “Days before the DHS announcement was made, a Texas Department of Public Service (DPS) Aircraft Operations Division Pilot working in Eagle Pass, Texas — a hotbed for smuggling operational and illegal immigration — told Frontlines, ‘If the federal government doesn’t get a handle on the situation … it’s a very good possibility in my opinion, in ten years, we’ll be a third-world country.'”

Following the horrific and unanticipated attacks on Israel carried out by terror organization Hamas on Saturday, several commentators have brought to question the United State’s national security, after millions of unvetted immigrants have illegally entered the country over the previous months and years. TPUSA CEO Charlie Kirk tweeted, “[the West] will ask itself why it ever allowed people who hate it to just move in and enjoy the fruits of our history and culture.”

“We have no idea who is in our country,” he added.

“TPUSA is helping you get prepared to influence the opinion of your friends and those who are around you.”
