60 Minutes Australia Promotes “They-Bies,” Gender-Neutral Infants
60 Minutes Australia released a trailer for an upcoming episode that features parents who are raising “they-babies,” gender-neutral infants who will be allowed to “pick” their gender when they are older.
“We’re not trying to eliminate gender,” one parent says. “It’s really helping kids find their own path to it.”
It isn’t uncommon for some couples to try unique parenting styles to be “hip” or go against the status quo. But this behavior goes too far. An expert in the trailer states “It is an experiment. What they’re doing is unprecedented.” This is obviously correct; the concept of raising children “genderless” has never been done before and the outcome is unknown. So why would parents experiment on their own children?
Our culture has seen a dramatic shift over the last two decades regarding how we view gender roles. Nowadays, so-called experts argue that sex and gender are two separate concepts. Sex is your biological categorization based on physical features, while gender is the role you play in society. This, of course, is an absurd concept. Sex and gender are inextricably linked to one another, and by all available data, raising a child to be a “gender” that is different from their sex will have severe consequences.
Many conservatives are familiar with psychologist John Money for his theory that gender is a societal construct. Excellently summarized in Matt Walsh’s What is a Woman, Money tested his theory on a young boy who suffered damage to his genitalia after a failed circumcision. Money instructed the boy’s parents to raise him as a female. After suffering a lifetime of depression, and an inability to have a strong relationship with his parents, the boy committed suicide at 38 years old.
Raising a child to have gender dysphoria can only bring negative consequences. The parents who are choosing to do this are playing with fire. But of course, they do not care. To them, raising their children without an assigned gender is a trend to gain attention and acclaim from the radical left who supports such behavior.
This practice borders child abuse and should not be encouraged. It should be passionately condemned for the safety and well-being of all children.
