Councilman Joel Castro
Joel Castro, Municipal Council Member
City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem – Alvin, Texas
In 2018, after a long and hard-fought campaign, Joel Castro was elected to serve on Alvin City Council at the age of 18 – becoming the youngest elected official in the great State of Texas. As a member of the City Council, Joel has worked tirelessly to implement commonsense conservative policies. He recently won re-election to the council, earning over 86% of the vote, in a decisive defeat over his liberal opponent. Now 21-years-old, Joel serves as the Mayor Pro-Tem for the City Council, and he continuously works to serve and better the community in which he was raised and loves.
In addition to his service to the citizens of Alvin, TX as a staunch conservative on the City Council, Joel also serves as a Precinct Chair for the Brazoria County GOP and Chairman of the Brazoria County Young Republicans Club. For his activism and service to his community both as an elected official as well as a volunteer, he has received a Congressional Recognition and was named the Rotarian of the Year by his local Rotary club.
