Inflation Is Real, White House Tweet About Cookout Savings Is Embarrassing
With our July 4th Independence Day Holiday in the rearview, we now have time to address the elephant in the room. In case you missed it, President Biden’s administration boasted, cheered, and celebrated that Americans saved 16 cents on their July 4th cookouts in 2021.
Yes, SIXTEEN CENTS. There’s so much to unpack here—more than a Whole Foods grocery cart! It looks like Liberals need a clean-up on aisle 4. Let’s start with the hypocrisy, move to the grocery store, and finish with the gas.
When Conservatives were in power not too long ago, the American people were given an approximate $1,200 tax cut. The Left called this CRUMBS. For the record, bread crumbs cost approximately $1.69, which is a lot more than 16 cents, but why are these Lefties celebrating 16 cents as a world-class victory but criticizing a four-figure tax cut? One reason-hypocritical political alignment.
Let’s now take a trip to the grocery store. Off the top of your head, what costs 16 cents in a grocery store? Nothing. One stick of beef jerky at Whole Foods is $1.35, Rice Puff Cereal is $1.79, and one bottle of spring water is 59 cents. Sixteen cents literally gets you nothing.
Even if you are saving 16 cents on groceries, which may have been a lot in 1910, once you take your time machine to 2021, get in your car and drive to the store, all of those penny savings have been lost and reversed. You see, just a year ago, under Conservative leadership, the United States was energy independent. Now, Leftists have reversed these prosperous policies, leaving gas prices soaring. In fact, even the New York Times said, “the average price of a gallon of regular in the United States has risen to $3.13, according to AAA, up from $3.05 a month ago.” By way of reference, a year ago, a gallon of gas cost just $2.18 on average.
The pain at the pump is serious, the grocery savings are minuscule, and inflation and the political manipulation are real.
