I Should Be Sad Team USA’s Soccer Team Lost…But I’m Not
Team USA failed to secure a win against Canada at the Olympics in Tokyo this week, thus losing their shot at capturing the gold medal in the summer games. The Left’s favorite equal pay activist-athlete, Megan Rapinoe, was disappointed upon her team’s performance and said, “It’s a bitter pill to swallow. Obviously, we never want to lose to Canada. I don’t think that I ever lost to Canada. So it’s a bitter one.”
It’s sad to be happy that team USA lost, but there is much joy to be had in seeing the defeat of Megan Rapinoe, one of the most insufferable and pretentious athletes I’ve ever seen.
Rapinoe continues to showcase poor sportsmanship as a full time kneeler during anthems and now part time bitter tear jerker; it is unclear what the feature will hold for Rapinoe, as she is rumored to be retiring from the sport after the Tokyo games.
Growing up, I enjoyed watching the summer games and was inspired by the athletes who competed with such valor and grace. Patriotism was high, and our nations’ colors were proudly worn as athletes won (typically) the most gold medals in the games. Our athletes inspire determination and perseverance throughout the competition, and a deeper connection was established as we heard their personal stories of how they became great champions of our great nation.
As the Olympics are winding down, these historic games have been overshadowed by many American athletes who have shown that their woke demands are no match for true country patriotism. While I myself, and friends, have been cheering for athletes who are proud of their country and have not dishonored the flag or kneel at anthems, it seems like patriotism – even at the Olympics – is a thing of the past.
Today, our sports are overrun by the woke mob, and they have taken over our proud heritage and all that we stand for. And this is un-American.
