Governor DeSantis Signs Bill Requiring Students to Learn Evils of Communism
Okay, this is one of my FAVORITE news stories to come out of 2021 so far. Why?! Because I am a total history nerd, and I think our school system’s failure to truthfully teach the history of the 20th Century, specifically the rise of capitalism and the danger and terrible impact of socialism and communism, is a major factor leading to our generation’s now embrace of Leftism. According to Gallup, most young Americans prefer socialism to capitalism for our country’s future. Insane.
To solve this, Governor Ron DeSantis just signed a bill that will require high school students in Florida to learn about the “evils of communism and totalitarian ideologies.” The bill also creates a library that tells the stories of “real patriots” that escaped communism and socialism.

Now I’ll admit, I’ve been pretty red-pilled when it comes to the education system. I don’t have any yet, but I will NEVER send my children to public school when I do. I know many parents and future parents now feel the same way. And as great as that is, we still have to remember not everyone has the ability to homeschool or send their child to an option other than public school.
This is why ensuring a proper curriculum on history, economics, policy, and current events are included in public school classrooms. We must protect the young minds in our communities and deflect the Left’s indoctrination. Governor DeSantis just led the charge, and I can’t wait to see more states take action after this.
