Former ICE Acting Director Accuses 60 Minutes of Cutting Key Information From Interview

Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), claims CBS News’ 60 Minutes selectively edited a recent interview, omitting key details he spoke about in order to push a specific narrative.

Speaking to Fox News’ “Evening Edit” anchor Elizabeth MacDonald, Homan stated that his interview with 60 Minutes, which spanned nearly two hours, was edited to exclude certain points on immigration and border security.

“Looks like CBS 60 Minutes has another major new editing and now a censorship controversy on its hands,” MacDonald posted on X.

She continued,“Tom Homan, former acting ICE director under Trump, says 60 Minutes made massive edits & censored its 2-hour [interview with] Homan because it had a biased agenda to attack Trump about deportations & to protect Biden-Harris.”

MacDonald explained that 60 Minutes went into the interview with a predetermined angle about immigration and edited out what Homan said about deporting terrorists who are caught crossing the border.

Homan reportedly expressed frustration that details he shared about deporting violent criminals, gang members, and individuals on terrorist watch lists were cut from the aired segment. MacDonald quoted him as saying, “[60 Minutes] also edited out the amount of fentanyl coming across that killed a quarter million Americans. They [edited out] a 600% increase in sex trafficking. I talked about all of this. We didn’t talk about, you know, the criminals and the gang members that have come across Tren de Aragua, they didn’t talk about everything that’s meaningful to the American people. We talked about it, but it didn’t make the final cut.”

He also added how he talked about how illegal immigrants were coming to the US from “181 different countries” but it was edited out.

Homan further alleged that information on illegal immigrants arriving from “181 different countries” was also omitted. He claimed 60 Minutes pursued a pre-planned narrative to portray deportation efforts as inhumane and family-separating, despite his attempts to provide broader context.

“[60 Minutes] came in with a plan,” Homan said, according to MacDonald. “They wanted to show that this massive deportation operation was going to be inhumane. It was going to separate families.”
