Fallout: What I Noticed Reporting from Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX
The mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas is nothing short of horrific, evil and tragic. From the evil shooter himself, to the unacceptable mistakes local law enforcement made, and the immediate politicization of the situation from the left.
Immediately Hollywood, and the mainstream media pounced on the opportunity to not only push their political gun control agenda, but also used it to further mobilize and radicalize their base.
Gun control has always been a major push from the far left in the United States, but now it has been placed into overdrive. The debate is simple, do guns kill people, or do people kill people?
Nowhere in human history has a firearm independently woken up one day and decides to murder a human being for any reason. In other words, the lethality of the weapon has not caused the death of people: It has always been violent humans operating firearms to kill or murder other humans. The worldview we adopt is what guides our principles, from the protection of the family, community, and nation; from the protection of our borders, the rule of law, and justice.
But what happens when we stop protecting our values?
It’s not that hard to see, that even on the situation at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas, it was a human with a firearm that took down the active shooter, stopping him from carrying out any further massacre. So the gun is not the issue, but the value and worldview that leads to the propensity of violence when the rule of law is disregarded.
Imagine if the good guy had his guns banned by the government and had no access to take down the bad guy? The death count would be much, much higher.
Are we really too blinded by a worldview that looks down on the empowerment of its own citizens to uphold the rule of law in their local communities? Maybe the left truly is.
Take a look at Mexico, that is exactly how the cartels have gained so much power. Punishing law-abiding gun owners for what an evil person did with a gun is not the answer. If anything, that will cause more death.
