Concealed Carry Permit Numbers Rise As Gun Control Regulations Increase
In a study conducted by the Crime Prevention Center, researchers reported that there are close to 19.5 million Americans with their license to conceal carry. Although some states are buckling down on gun control, the number of citizens getting their concealed carry license continues to grow.
Since 1999 the number of citizens with their concealed handgun permits has grown from 2.7 million to 19.48 million in 2020.
With the restriction of concealed carry in both states of New York and California, along with the 16 states that do not require a license to carry, 7.6% of Americans hold concealed carry permits.
Since the number of concealed carry permits have increased, the report states that the murder rate has gradually decreased. Even though there can be no assumption that these numbers correlate, it should be recognized that as concealed carry permits increase, lawlessness decreases.
