Chapter Leadership Summit Recap

Turning Point USA’s National Field Program just hosted the 5th annual Chapter Leadership Summit at HQ in Phoenix, and it was such a blast to speak to our nation’s top Conservative student activists! These kids are on fire for the Conservative movement and everything we are proud to be as Americans. You love to see it!

For anyone who might not know, the National Field Program is responsible for TPUSA’s engagement on THOUSANDS of campuses across the country, impacting tens of thousands of lives every year. 300 of TPUSA’s top Conservative student activists from all 50 states traveled to Phoenix, AZ, to join TPUSA for a fun and impactful weekend.

The energy in the room was off the charts!

TPUSA student activists were educated and empowered to lead America’s Culture War on their campuses—in their classrooms, on the field, on the court—everywhere. They got all of TPUSA’s best techniques and tips gained from years of experience dealing with Leftist opposition in the public arena. These students networked, met TPUSA Contributors like me, and learned from prominent figures in the Conservative movement.

Speakers at the Chapter Leadership Summit reinforced that the movement is either growing or shrinking. We are either training to beat the competition, or planning to fail. We’re here to win!

I loved this checklist that we provided our students at the “Building Relationships of Trust,” workshop because literally anyone can begin improving on these things today:

  • Being on time
  • Work ethic
  • Effort
  • Body language
  • Energy
  • Attitude
  • Passion
  • Being coachable
  • Doing extra
  • Being prepared

In “Building a Lasting Campus Presence,” students were reminded to become three key things:

  • Be reliable. This means people can count on this person to keep promises.
  • Be consistent. This means people know that this person pulls through every time, especially when times are tough.
  • Be sincere. This means that people know they are cared about simply as a person. We can get lost in the mission of things so often, but we need to remember that people respond to genuine care from their leaders.

There were so many more talks, and I could go on and on.

The bottom line is that these student leaders are grounded in their love for America and are emboldened to STAND UP for our values on the court, field, and classroom. We need American patriots like this who—when everyone is kneeling during the National Anthem—these patriotic student-athletes are STANDING. TPUSA is making sure that we have more students who love America.

But that wasn’t everything that happened this week!

TPUSA also threw a massive block party on Thursday in the Freedom Forum at TPUSA HQ! There was food, games, a DJ, and a photo booth in the parking lot. It was a blast to get our nation’s greatest student activists together for a celebration of freedom!

We also hosted a meet & greet with TPUSA Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk, and a book signing with Freedom Seeds host, and fellow TPUSA Contributor Isabel Brown. Just seeing how long the lines were to meet both Charlie and Isabel was a big sign of love and commitment these young people have for America. TPUSA is inspiring true patriots to stand up for America in their classrooms, and on the field.

The best part of the night was when TPUSA brought out our special guest, MMA athlete and Huntington Beach city councilman, Tito Ortiz! What a powerhouse this guy is. His commitment to the MMA reflects in his commitment to help save America, especially California – a place I was born and raised. Ortiz spoke to the need that all Americans need to utilize teamwork in order to stand together against policies that make their cities worse off. Huntington Beach is lucky to have a dedicated, proud American fighting the American Culture War!

It was an honor and a privilege to meet so many freedom fighters this past weekend. It’s hard to imagine what it must be like to feel like you are on a battlefield on your campus, on the court, and on the field but your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. You inspire me and so many others to stand up and fight for our values that have and will continue to make America great.

“I would have done anything to have Turning Point USA when I was your age, so it really is a true honor to be here today.”

- Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany
