Bus Driver Shortage In Massachusetts Leads To The National Guard Driving Kids To School

You know what’s sad? When Americans are STUCK in Afghanistan but back on the homefront, bus drivers are SO LAZY that we’re using our troops INSTEAD.

Let me rephrase that: the NATIONAL GUARD is driving kids to school because people aren’t showing up to work!

In Massachusetts, 250 members of the National Guard were activated to help transport kids in what they call “7D vehicles.”

Props to the National Guard who are willing and able to serve wherever they’re needed, but to the people of Massachusetts: COME ON!

This is CRAZY! Imagine being deployed to drive kids to school. Not to mention, imagine being a kid climbing on a school bus and seeing a SOLDIER behind the wheel.

Here’s what NPR reported:

Many drivers were furloughed during the COVID-19 school closures in 2020, while others took the chance to retire. Respondents to the survey were most likely to say that the pay they were able to offer was a major factor affecting their ability to recruit drivers…

Brand-new bus drivers can’t be hired on the spot like retail or fast-food workers; they need commercial driver’s licenses. A second factor in the shortage, Macysyn pointed out, is that in many places over the past year and a half, departments of motor vehicles were closed or had limited operations, so people couldn’t get their road tests or update their qualifications.

Want to know something even crazier? In Chicago, they’re also struggling to get people behind the wheel because 10% of their workforce QUIT!

But they didn’t just “quit,” these folks quit in the name of FREEDOM after they were mandated to get a vaccine…

Here’s a rule of thumb: Need workers? Don’t interfere with people’s personal medical decisions.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”

- Senator Marco Rubio, Florida
