BLEXIT’s ‘Educate to Liberate’ Road Trip Continues at Alabama State University

Turning Point USA’s BLEXIT team members have been traveling to college campuses around the country on the “Educate to Liberate” tour to have productive, social, and political conversations with students who tend to oppose conservative viewpoints.
In a spirited and diverse atmosphere at HBCU Alabama State University’s Homecoming, Savannah Craven and BLEXIT Student Movement team members proved to be successful in sparking political discussion and recruiting new BLEXIT members.
Alabama State’s football victory over Bethune Cookman made for a joyous weekend as the university celebrated with various activities such as a homecoming parade, tailgates, sorority and fraternity cookouts, alumni gatherings, and an energetic block party. Approximately 96% of the crowd was of black heritage, including current students and alumni.
Conversations shared with students over the weekend included pivotal issues such as black history, conservative values and principles, and foundational concepts of TPUSA’s BLEXIT initiative and the BLEXIT Student Movement.
In one interview, a student claimed he had nothing in common with black conservatives. Savannah Craven responded, and prompted him to discuss his opinions regarding school choice, entrepreneurialism, capitalism, and black history. After a few minutes, the student came to the realization that he fundamentally agreed with several conservative principles, and pillar beliefs of TPUSA and BLEXIT.
It’s productive conversations such as this that change the narrative and stigma of conservative values and promote concepts that a majority of Americans can agree upon.
Several students joined the BLEXIT movement and fostered a strong sense of camaraderie among the minority community at Alabama State University. Attendees not only engaged in meaningful discussions, but also extended their hospitality and expressed enthusiasm for BLEXIT’s presence. This experience left a positive impression on attendees and set the stage for more in-depth discussions in the future.
