AOC’s Latest Marxist Tactic
AOC says some ridiculous stuff, and too many conservatives are quick to look at her tweets and go, “what an idiot.”
For example, she recently tweeted that conservatives “like to make fun of the fact that I used to be a waitress, but we all know if they ever had to do a double they’d be the ones found crying in the walk-in fridge halfway through their first shift because someone yelled at them for bringing seltzer when they wanted sparkling.”
I can’t tell you how hard I rolled my eyes at that. Does she think conservatives have never waitressed before? Does she think every single working-class person is leftist?
Let’s get real. She isn’t dumb enough to think all waitresses are leftist. Instead, she’s savvy enough to use this opportunity to create tension with divisive Marxist messaging, as if the conservatives are the evil, oppressive owning class, and the left is the working class.
I became a conservative because I felt disrespected by my liberal Governor, Andrew Cuomo, when I was a young teen working double weekend shifts at my local diner, and serving at a bar downtown at night, and even serving as a butler at weddings at a golf course restaurant (where I also had to dress up as the Easter Bunny and work the brunch on holiday).
I’m conservative because I believe in empowering working Americans, not holding them back with high taxes, regulation, and a depressing bureaucracy.
