American Girl Won’t Apologize for Newest Book which Pushes Puberty Blockers on Children

An American Girl spokesperson has released a statement making it very clear that the brand will not be apologizing for their newest book, which falsely represents transgender medical treatments, advocates for puberty blockers, and speaks to young girls about gender identity and expression.

American Girl, an iconic doll brand which for years would talk to young girls about growing up, they previously published age-appropriate books to spark curiosity and creativity for young girls. After the release of “A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image Book” which encourages a “positive body image” for young girls, parents and lifelong supporters of the company were outraged. The book is recommended for girls 10 years of age and older, and suggests that “if you haven’t gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body’s changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.”

This is, of course, a serious misrepresentation of what “puberty blocking” drugs actually accomplish. These drugs commonly have a number of negative consequences, including a loss in bone density, “Less development of genital tissue,” (i.e.: genitals do not ever fully form) according to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The hospital does admit, unlike many other institutions, that “the possible long-term side effects [of puberty blockers] that are not yet known,” and yet, still classifies them as “safe” for children.

These drugs are falsely advertised as “temporary,” as if the developmental can simply be paused and picked up later on, but that is not true. The process can either be allowed to run its natural course or derailed entirely. Adolescents are being treated as lab rats, and American Girl is doing the bidding of Big Pharma by promoting these radical theories.

Julie Parks, a spokesperson for American Girl, explained that no other book released by the company has received such significant backlash — this being the first time they have ever released anything regarding sexual identity.

“Our ‘Smart Girls Guides’ are known for supporting young people and their families through a variety of complex adolescent topics.”

“The content in this book was developed in partnership with medical and adolescent care professionals and consistently emphasizes the importance of having conversations and discussing any feelings with parents or trusted adults.”

The book explicitly encourages children to explore different sexualities. It also tells young girls who experience feelings of gender-dysphoria to “speak with a trusted adult” whether that is a parent, school counselor, or doctor. Of course, school counselors have been all too eager to assist children in a social and medical transition — without parental consent.

The press release also stated, “Every girl needs to learn to live comfortably in her own skin, and this book will show the way!”

“A book that encourages children to take puberty blockers (known to cause infertility and increase risk of cancer) if they don’t feel right in their own skin. AND gives them resources to do so behind their parent’s back? Is not okay. These kids hear about It enough in this world, there’s no reason to put It in a children’s book.”

American Girl has entirely changed their messaging to young girls, and now supports a number of radical claims that are destroying lives.

This is incredibly inappropriate behavior by American Girl.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”
